LABELLING FOR WINES AND LIQUEURS

LABELLING FOR WINES AND LIQUEURS

Silca self-adhesive labels are designed to offer high performance during all stages of application on bottles. Our production unit guarantees perfect printing quality, easy handling of labelling procedures and the professionalism needed to communicate with the graphic designer to obtain the best possible solution.

During the lifecycle of a bottle of wine, the label is subject to a series of “shock” treatments. Labelling is an integral part of the bottling process and the labels used must offer excellent performance so that they guarantee the best possible adhesion, both in manual and automatic applications, at low temperatures, in damp or hot conditions. While the labels on bottles for white wine or sparkling wine are exposed to water and to ice, red wines are usually served at normal room temperature. The label must be able to tolerate the long periods of humidity and cold in the cellars where the bottles are kept, without compromising looks and while avoiding wrinkles and bubbles forming on the paper.

THE RIGHT BALANCE BETWEEN PERFORMANCE AND LOOKS

To achieve the best labelling, it is essential that there is perfect cohesion between the elements that make up the label: the printed part, the adhesive surface and the siliconized support. Silca can offer a wide range of combinations that guarantee, without exception, an elegant balance between performance, aesthetics and innovation. The result must be a label that is easy to apply, with a special shape, printed with an elegant balance of graphics in several colours, embossed and hot-rolled or with dry-printing relief. In short, the possibilities are endless.

PAPER LABELS

Paper labels meet most of the requirements of the wine sector. Paper-based material provides excellent print resolution to create sophisticated designs and obtain excellent visual results. Paper labels can be used with almost any printing system for high-quality colour reproduction that enhances the aesthetics and image of the logo.

SYNTHETIC LABELS

The use of synthetic materials offers many advantages as far as labelling on bottles of wine is concerned. For example, synthetic material is ideal for high-speed labelling. Once applied, the label in synthetic material becomes and integral product of the finished product, it improves the quality image of the product, it offers good resistance to friction and excellent durability. An expert in the bottling sector, Silca has plenty of experience in creating adhesive labels for bottling, thanks to constant dialogue and active collaboration with producers, winemakers and manufacturers of labelling machines. Wineries have adopted self-adhesive labelling with good reason: minimum investment, low maintenance costs, cleanliness, ease of use and a wide choice of materials. Flexibility in self-adhesive labelling goes hand in hand. It offers a wide range of materials and all the printing technologies currently available can be used.
