A QR Code is a two-dimensional barcode (or 2D code), i.e. a matrix, made up of black nodules arranged in a square pattern. The QR Code stores information (text, telephone numbers, vCards, e-mails or URLs), which can be read by a mobile phone or a smartphone. The smartphone will read the information contained in the code and if it includes a URL it will open the website, if there is a vCard it will ask for permission to add the new contact to your phone’s contact list (with name, address, telephone numbers etc).
QR Codes can be printed on wine labels, as well as on all the other labels we produce.
To read QR Codes you must have the necessary software installed on your smartphone. There are plenty of free versions, the most popular are:
